![]() First, let us define courage, courage is the ability to do that thing that frightens one. Just like in reality no matter how hard the lightning strikes as a person we learn to weather the storm and bounce back to become a better person.Īnother theme that I found in the movie was courage, courage by the fact that several characters showed strength in facing adversities despite that the world is gravely against they still manage to withstand and face it without hesitations. ![]() The movie for me presented one of the themes that for me was present which was resiliency, resiliency due to the fact that as Jean Valjean is released from prison and he goes around everywhere to try to secure temporary shelter and most importantly jobs, during his quest of new life after his served prison years he was still not accepted in the society due to his past state of being an ex-convict his presence wasn't in favor of anyone but as he was found out of nowhere by a priest he was accepted and let him stayed for a night for shelter and fed him food to satisfy his hunger but despite of those action showed to him by the priest he wasn't able to hold his desire and wasn't able to avoid temptation he stole silverware due to that action he was caught by the town police and asked to return what he stole to the priest and Jean Valjean will return to jail and serve the punishment for his wrong doing but as he was presented to the priest he was shocked as the priest showed his compassion to him by telling the police that Jean Valjean was telling the truth that the priest gave him the silver ware due to that compassionate action by the priest, he was told that he was forgiven and was given a chance of a new life and to start over again after that began to change his action and dictated his path better than his previous life he was able to bounce back as he hit rock bottom as he was misunderstood by the law and by many for his negative actions. ![]() As I go over movie critiques let me preview the background of the movie, the story in the movie happened in the 19 th century era in the France wherein they are in the middle of revolution, colonization and war social classes and inequality was deeply present in throughout the movie even right at the start of the movie. In addition, there are also lots of known actors for me who portrayed the characters excellently that gave justice to every lines that they had thrown some are like the likes of Hugh Jackman who played the character of prisoner 24601 or other known as John Valjean, Rusell Crowe who played as the police officer Javert and lastly Anne Hathaway as Fantine. ![]() ARTAPP - A Reflection paper on Les Miserables As a teenager I am really not fond of watching musical plays or movies since I myself I admit I am not a good singer but in this movie despite of it being a musical movie the plot and its moral values and lesson presented throughout the movie made fond watching it.
